Tours Depart at 8:30 a.m.

Tour participants may be dropped off, at the conclusion of the tour, at either the airport or the Hyatt Regency. Our intention is to arrive at the airport by approximately 1:00 p.m. Please schedule your flight accordingly.

Newell/Rubbermaid and Slingshot Product Development Group Inc.

(Participants will tour both facilities)



Tour participants will be guided through the rapid prototyping labs, prototype assembly rooms and the shop area of Newell Rubbermaid, a global marketer of consumer and commercial products. In the lab they will see various Objet, Z Corp, Stratasys and EOS 3D printers in action. A visit to the prototype assembly rooms reveals engineers working on their prototype build as they work through their designs. A stop in the full metal and wood shop concludes the tour, where several CNC's, mills, lathes, saws, sanders and drills are in use.

Georgia Institute of Technology and Inferno Art Foundry

(Participants will tour both facilities)

The tour to the Georgia Institute of Technology includes visits to the research and education labs in the Manufacturing Research Center and the School of Mechanical Engineering. In the research lab, visitors will see commercial stereolithography, laser sintering, and research additive manufacturing equipment. They will also learn about research projects in ink-jet printing, design, and stereolithography. In the education labs, visitors will observe a range of 3D printers, learn about a variety of student design projects, and understand how students utilize the various prototyping technologies in their projects.



Inferno Art Foundry



The Inferno Art Foundry provides personal attention to every artist's individual needs and total collaboration throughout the casting process. Tour this facility equipped with cutting edge technologies and techniques for producing artists' sculpture. Strong affiliations with educational and industrial institutions help to broaden the scope of knowledge and provide the best environment for creative expression.
